Sta tria ("On three") is one of the fundamental building blocks of Greek dance. This same basic step is seen in countless different dances and in many different forms. The Hasaposerviko, for example, follows the same pattern as "sta tria".
It is danced to a steady beat (2/4). Right "together", right "together", left "together"
This means, move right foot to the right, bring the left foot to the right, move the right foot to the right, left foot meets the right foot. Now the left foot moves to the left and then bring the right foot to the left.
The hand-hold can be either down or basket-weave.
Many dances from Asia Minor follow the same pattern as the Sta Tria. Sousta from the islands of Rhodes and Symi are also closely related.
