Φέτο το καλοκαιράκι.

Ζοναράδικος κουλουριαστός από το χωριό Ασβεστάδες. 

Φέτο το καλοκαίρι,
φύτεψα ένα δεντράκι.

Την δευτέρα το φυτεύω,
και την τρίτη το κλαδεύω.

Την τετάρτη βγάζ' τα φύλλα,
και την Πέμπτη βγάζ' τα μήλα.

Την Παρασκευή το βράδυ,
ήρθε ο κλέφτης να τα πάρει.

Κλέφτη μου, μη κλέψ' τα μήλα,
μη μου κορφολογάς τα φύλλα.

Translation

This past summer,
I planted a small tree.

I planted it on Monday,
trimmed it on Tuesday.

On Wednesday it sprouted leaves,
and on Thursday it bore apples.

Friday evening, a thief came to steal them.

O, thief don't steal the apples,
don't go breaking the buds.
